Poté, co přítelkyni odcizili mj. i cestovní pas s kartičkou I-94 (kterou je nutné při odletu odevzdat jako důkaz opuštění území Spojených států), napsal jsem do D.C. následující vysvětlující dopis:

January 9, 2008 Dear Sir or Madam. I spent my vacation with my finacée ... in the United States during summer 2006 (July 26, 2006 – August 07, 2006), especially to visit my relatives in NJ. Unfortunately, in the beginning of our vacation my fiancée’s documents including passport with visa and I-94 card has been stolen in amusement park Six Flags: Great Adventure in Jackson, NJ. At the Czech embassy in New York City my fiancée immediately applied for an emergency passport,which she used for our flight back to Czech Republic. I expected that Czech officers forwarded this situation to appropriate authority in USA so I didn't follow up on it, we didn’t expect any problem at the airport on our way home. I’d like to visit my relatives in the summer 2008 again, with my fiancée also. She has a new visa already, she applied few months ago. But I found on the Internet that she can get in trouble during immigration process while entering to USA, because she didn’t give the I-94 card when she left the United States in 2006. I wrote to Embassy of the United States in Prague, who recommended me to explain the situation to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Air Sea Passenger Operations Office and I got an address and further instructions from them (see next page).
